This is the type of thing that can happen when hoaxes like Jussie Smollett and Covington Catholic are perpetrated.
Real people who support President Donald Trump can be accosted or worse because people believe we are evil.
That is what happened at a Sam’s Club in Bowling Green, Kentucky when a couple wearing a MAGA hat was threatened with a gun, WKNY reported.
A Tennessee man is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment after witnesses told police he pulled a gun on a man who was wearing Make America Great Again hat inside Sam’s Club.
The hat is associated with President Donald Trump’s campaign for office.
James Phillips, 57, of Cottontown, Tenn., is accused of pulling a gun on the man inside the store Saturday after making an obscene gesture with his finger, according to his arrest citation.
Phillips told police he made the gesture at the man and a woman with him because of the MAGA hats they were wearing, according to his citation. The man then confronted Phillips inside the store and an argument began.
That man then made the same obscene gesture to Phillips, according to the citation. At that point, witnesses told police Phillips pointed a gun at the man. That portion of the incident could not be seen on video surveillance.
Police encountered Phillips and the couple after being called to the Sam’s Club parking lot where multiple witnesses had called the police to report a man pulling a gun on a couple, according to his citation.
Phillips pointed a gun at them and told the woman that “it’s a good day to die bitch.”
The man was carrying a .40 caliber with a bullet in the chamber the reports said and he had two extra magazines with him.
Not surprisingly this case has not made it to the national news the way Jussie Smollet and Covington did.
This comes as the Chicago police are getting set to bring the Jussie Smollett hoax case to the grand jury.
Chicago Police are preparing to bringing charges against Smollett to the grand jury next week, The Daily Mail reported.
A grand jury is slated to hear the Jussie Smollett case next week, according to law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation into the Empire actor’s alleged hoax attack.
Chicago police insiders told TMZ that authorities are keeping a close eye on two Nigerian brothers, who were arrested and questioned about the attack before being released on Friday, to make sure that Smollett doesn’t try to contact them.
Investigators have said they believe Smollett may have paid Empire extras Abimbola ‘Abel’ and Olabinjo ‘Ola’ Osundairo $3,500 to assault him in an orchestrated, rehearsed attack on January 29.
Sources say Smollett initially agreed to sign complaints against his assailants, but declined to do so once he heard that Abel and Ola were the men in custody because he knew them and felt bad for them.
Reports of a possible grand jury emerged hours after the Chicago Police Department said Smollett was not yet being considered an official suspect, despite insider claims to the contrary.
‘We have some information that needs to be corroborated and verified with the Empire cast member before we can answer this question,’ CPD said in a statement to TMZ.
‘After new developments, we’ve reached out to his attorney and requested additional time to interview him.’
Smollett has furiously denied claims that he orchestrated the assault and said ‘nothing could be further from the truth’.
