While every House Democrat in their right mind knows that President Donald Trump will not be removed from office, that wasn’t the only goal of their impeachment inquiry. As Rep. Doug Collins put it, this was a “focus group” impeachment.
Democrats changed their central accusation from a “quid pro quo” to “bribery” simply because that’s what poll tested better in battleground districts. So even though Trump will be exonerated in the Senate, Democrats at least succeeded in rallying their troops, right?
Nope.
While every liberal pundit is claiming impeachment is now a “permanent stain” on the Trump presidency, voters don’t see it that way. Trump literally rallied his way through impeachment, and it’s showing up in the polls as Democrats failed to convincingly present their (bogus) narrative.

Trump’s approval rating has soared past that of ex-President Barack Obama’s at the same point in his administration.
Trump’s job approval rating 151 weeks into his presidency sits at 45 percent, as revealed by a Gallup poll last Wednesday. That puts Trump three points higher than the 42 percent approval rating Gallup found for Obama at the same point of his presidency.
Gallup’s poll recorded a similar job disapproval rating for both presidents 151 weeks into their administrations. Some 51 percent of voters said they disapprove of Trump’s performance in a Gallup poll conducted Dec. 2-15, compared with 50 percent of voters saying they disapproved of Obama’s performance in a Dec. 12-18, 2011 Gallup poll.
And that’s after 100% of the mainstream media bashed Trump with an astonishing 92% negative news coverage, according to one study.
Obama received 72% POSITIVE media coverage by comparison, yet polled lower than Trump with less than a year before his re-election.
Incredible.
Trump’s approval has also gained six points against Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
This is translating As we reported yesterday, Trump is dominating the 2020 field. Trump beats out Vice President Biden, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Senator Bernie Sanders in a new YouGov/Economist “electability” poll.
This is the second poll in two days showing the president’s advantage and has the commander-in-chief leading his opponents by 6 points to 41 points. Against Biden, 46% think Trump would win (while 40% think Biden would win). Against Bernie Sanders the Margin is 57%-31%, against Elizabeth Warren 57%-27%, and against Pete Buttigieg 59%-18%.
